Information about our

Projects

Grace Home Foundation is working on one primary project, the expansion of Grace Home's skilled nursing facilities. Currently, Grace Home has thirty-three beds for skilled resident care. The expansion will add twenty-seven new beds and renovate existing rooms. Some of the existing rooms will be converted into private rooms. Overall capacity of the home will increase slightly. The larger, private rooms in the new expansion and remodeled existing facility will improve the resident and visitor experience. The image is from Sunset Home Assisted Living in Bonners Ferry, Idaho which illustrates the home-like atmosphere the Grace Home expansion will replicate. Elder care is transforming from an institutional setting to be more resident centered and feel like home.

The foundation printed a brochure with information about the proposed expansion. You can download a PDF version here.

Who Are We

Grace Home Foundation (foundation) is the fundraising and project manangement entity for Grace Home Incorporated (home). The home and the foundation are operated by Church of God in Christ, Mennonite a faith-based organization founded on the Bible and followers of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. The home and the foundation are both 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. The operation of the home is subsidized by monthly quotas from three local Church congregations in Livingston, Winton, and Ballico. This subsidization allows the home to offer superb care that is not found in for profit elder care facilities. Funds donated to the foundation are not used to subsidize the operation and are solely used for capital improvements to facilities and property assets.

The home was started in 1958 as a way to provide care for aging Church members as well as the local community. Initial capacity was for 15 residents. Today the capacity is for 33 residents and there is a standing wait list for new admissions. The facility is aging and the need for updated and expanded physical facilities prompted the formation of Grace Home Foundation to plan, fund, and construct these facilities. Currently the foundation is in the fundraising and planning stages. Utility and street construction is proposed to start in the near future based on a master plan which includes both a skilled nursing expansion as well as the additional independent living apartments for those over age 55 and no children. Currently Grace Garden Apartments is a series of seven two bedroom apartments that provide a quiet, peaceful community setting for retirees.

We welcome the community to donate, large or small, to help us expand the facility and provide improved service to the community. You can set up a one time or monthly recurring donation by clicking the "Donate Now" button. If you have any questions please reach out to us at one of the touch points below.
